Malkangiri is industrially backward district but if you are interested in observing the most primitive form of business activity you can visit Mundiguda This small village is famous for its weekly market on Sundays where large numbers of the members of Bonda community come to exchange their products. One can still see the prevalence of barter system here. The market continues till 2 pm. Another industrial attraction is Hydro electric project at Balimela.

Sights to See

Mudulipada
This place is famous for Bonda tribe, one of the oldest and most primitive ones in India. It is named after the Bonda race, i.e Muduli, Challan, Sisa and Jani, related to the Bonda community.

God Malikeswar Temple
Temple of God Malikeswar situated inside the town. This number-one attraction of this place draws huge numbers of devotees during Shivaratri Mela which is organised every year with much pomp and ceremony.
